Peter Storn had his professional start in Los Angeles, playing in various club bands and doing studio sessions with artists such as Irene Cara, George Johnson (from Brothers Johnson), and David Williams (from Michael Jackson). After being on the road for six years with a Rock/Dance/Variety band, he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked with a number of different groups in a wide variety of styles, including Pop/Rock/Alternative with “1933,” Funk/R&B with Jamtrak, Contemporary Jazz/Smooth Jazz with Cliff Sarde, Jazz with Dennis Rowland, Country with “House of Steel,” with steel guitar player Mike G. Smith (Gatlin Brothers, Judds, Jerry Reed), and also in one of Pam Nelson’s earlier Country/Classic Rock bands, Sedona Crossing.
Performing under his own name, the Peter Storn Project, he played Jazz and Contemporary Jazz and released two CDs. One highlight of this ensemble was a 10-day tour of Mexico.
Peter recorded on two of Cliff Sarde’s albums and contributed a composition for each CD, one of them featuring pianist Russell Ferrante from the Yellowjackets. Another collaboration with Cliff Sarde earned them a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award, for film music for the PBS special “Visions of Arizona.”
A writing and recording side project with Thaddeus Rose produced several songs which ended up being placed in TV shows such as “The Mentalist” on CBS and on MTV.
In recent years Peter has performed and toured with several Tribute Shows, playing the music of Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks, British Invasion, and The Beatles.
